Enjoy sweeping ocean views and fresh coastal air on a walk through Wavecrest Open Space in Half Moon Bay!
Join Peter Cronin and fellow Villagers for a relaxed, approximately one-hour walk along the coastal bluffs overlooking the Pacific.
Wavecrest is especially known for its cypress tree tunnel, bluff views, and birdlife. It is an important habitat for wintering raptors. Keep an eye out for hawks, northern harriers, white-tailed kites, and other coastal birds. Bring your binoculars if you have them—you might even spot migrating whales offshore!
The trail is relatively flat but unpaved, with packed dirt, gravel, and some uneven surfaces. Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Dress in layers, as coastal weather can change quickly, and bring water.
Meeting point: Near the baseball fields at Smith Field Park.
Parking: Smith Field Park. The parking area is gravel, so please use care when walking from your vehicle.
The walk is open to Village members and guests.
